SUMMARY:Defensive Pistol 1
DESCRIPTION:Defensive Pistol 1 builds on the fundamentals of shooting and incorporates many skills necessary to carrying a handgun or using one in self defense.  DP1 benefits both novice and experienced shooters. Class incorporates additional aspects of shooting and emphasizes improved weapons handling\, increased speed and improved  accuracy.  Training incorporates specific tasks such as the draw\, multiple target engagements\, target transitions\, use of cover/concealment\, and basic movement. A major goal is to develop skills that allow you to focus on the tasks at hand while the marksmanship becomes second nature. Students should already have a firm understanding of firearms safety and the fundamentals of shooting.  If you are a new gun owner\, sign up for Basic Pistol first.  The class lasts at 6-8 hours and the cost is $165. Class requires a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition (you may not use it all)\, quality strong side holster designed specifically for your gun (Kydex preferred. DESCRIPTION:Course covers everything you need to get your Texas LTC.  I also address Constitutional Carry and why it’s still better to get your LTC.  If you are a new gun owner or have very limited experience\, I encourage you to take the Basic Pistol class first or request the combined Basic Pistol and LTC course.  Students should have a firm understanding of firearms safety and the fundamentals of shooting prior to attending the LTC course.  This is not a firearms training class\, but primarily focuses on the laws in Texas.  Class requires 50 rounds of factory ammunition.   You may use any handgun in good working order to include .22 LR for the proficiency qualification.   Red dot sights are allowed\, but no laser sights.   Proficiency Course of Fire is below.  Cost $75.00 \nCancelation policy: Full refund (minus 10% processing fee) if you cancel more than 30 days before the course.  50% refund if you cancel between 30 and 15 days of the course.  No refunds issued within 2 weeks of the course. \n Texas License To Carry a Handgun License Proficiency Demonstration Course of Fire  \nThe following course of fire is required for proficiency demonstration. To successfully qualify\, shooters must complete this course with a minimum score of 70% (175 out of possible 250).  If any malfunctions are encountered\, the shooter will work through the problem and finish the course of fire. If rounds are held (not fired within the allotted time)\, the shots will be scored as misses. All courses of fire will be scored on a standard B-27 target. The B-27 target must be 24 inches by 45 inches and may be one of four colors; black\, blue\, red\, or green. The target shall be scored utilizing the 5\, 4\, 3 scoring diagram in the upper left hand corner.  \nStage 1: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 3 yards.  \nA. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 2 seconds allowed for each shot.  \nB. Ten shots (10) fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence.  \nC. Five (5) shots fired in 10 seconds  \nStage 2: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 7 yards – fired 5 stages.  \nA. Five (5) shots will be fired in 10 seconds  \nB. Five (5) shots will be fired in 2 stages:  \n1.Two (2) shots will be fired in 4 seconds \n2.Three (3) shots will be fired in 6 seconds \nC. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each shot.  \nD. Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.  \nStage 3: Ten shots (10) fired from 15 yards – fired in two 5-shot strings.  \nA.
